About Me
My name is Rashad Reynolds, and I have been a dedicated teacher and coach for the past 18 years. I began teaching 4th grade math and science, while also coaching middle school football. Since then, I have taught and coached in middle school and high school. I've taught in Georgia, South Carolina, and Maryland. On the high school level, I have taught Algebra 1, Geometry, and Health/PE. I currently serve as a physical education and health teacher at South Forsyth High School in Cumming, GA. I coach linebackers for the football team and serve as the head coach for the 9th grade basketball team.
I hail from an athletic family. My father played defensive end at South Carolina State University while my mother ran track there. My father also coached us in 6th and 7th grade football, winning the championship 10 out of 12 years. My older brother played football at Wake Forest University and is currently the defensive line coach at Arizona State University. My younger brother was the 10th pick in the 2001 NFL Draft out of Florida State University. I lettered for 4 years at Rice University as an inside linebacker, earning All-WAC honors 3 years. Prior to college, I led Aiken High School to its first and only football state championship with 13 sacks. There are two Super Bowl rings, one BCS championship ring, and two football state championship rings in my family, all thanks to my father. I know what it takes to win.
I finished Rice University with a Bachelor of Arts in Human Performance and Health Science. I also have a Master of Science in Sport Administration from Georgia State University. I am currently working on my Specialist degree in Coaching Pedagogy at Valdosta State University. Teaching and coaching come honest as I come from a family of educators. Both of my grandmothers, two aunts, and my father were teachers. I love working with children and having an impact on their lives. I have worked in Title 1 areas where I am the only male figure in students' lives. I had a 70% proficient rate on the standardized state math test for 7th grade in the state of Georgia.
In the future, I look forward to having an administrative role such as athletic director. I believe that I can have a bigger impact on student-athletes in that position. As an athletic director, I will have the ability to make the changes needed to help student-athletes reach their maximum potential. I have proven myself to be effective in raising funds for equipment, scheduling teams for basketball, booking referees, and buses for games.
Outside of work, I am a loving husband and father to my wife and 11 year old son. We love traveling, biking, and hiking. We enjoy traveling around the state of Georgia, viewing waterfalls. My wife serves the Cartersville community as an oncologist. We have a beautiful French bulldog named Beau.
